03-31-10 | 06:03 pmThinking of ChadMy Dear Brother-In-Law, I'm sorry that it took so long for me to write this, I just couldn't find the right words. You were such a wonderful person and you will be missed dearly. I want you to know that Jeremy loved you and looked up to you so much. You meant a great deal to him. I deeply regret not being there that awful day to support him in his loss. That hurts me a great deal. I hope that my boys have that kind of closeness with each other. I am constantly reminded of you when Jeremy says silly things like "GoodNight" or "HUH" or "It's Fine". & What about "See ya in Nashville" Whenever a Kenny Chesney song comes on I think of you, especially "Livin In Fast Forward", it brings me back to mine and Jeremy's wedding when you sang that song, slid across the floor on your knees and tore your tuxedo pants. You didn't care though, you got up and said "Well, that's what insurance is for". I am reminded of you and a tear comes to my eye when I hear the song's 'Red on a Rose' by Alan Jackson and 'Wonderful Tonight' by Eric Clapton. I am reminded of you everytime I have to be stern with my son and call him by his first and middle name 'Dallas Chad'. Did you know that I in the hospital I did not want to name him 'Dallas Chad', I wanted to name him 'Dallas David', it flowed together better. Now, I am so happy that Jeremy won and Dallas has your first name as a middle name. I will forever be grateful that Jeremy chose to name him after you. I will always remember the 4th of July parties with you singing and jumping around and doing the Uncle Sam "I want you" point with your finger or the thumbs up. There is so much about you that we are all going to miss....I think for me I am really going to miss going in Jer's drawer to put clothes away and seeing a t-shirt you left there in place of the one you took from him or going in my kitchen cupboard and seeing one of my Darien Lake Beer mugs missing and then visiting you and finding it in your kitchen cupboard. Now when I open Jer's drawer and see your t-shirt or go in my kitchen cupboard and see your Sav-a-Tree mug, I smile, thinking of you. You were so fun and full of life. I know that you don't want us to be sad, but it is very difficult to not be. I suppose as time goes by it will get better. With you in mind, I will help Jeremy with his grieving and remind him that you would want us to remember the good times. I promise to be strong and stay positive and I will instill that in my children as Uncle Chad would say...Stay Positive and Never Quit. Love and Miss you, Your Sister-In-Law, Christian

03-08-10 | 06:42 pm:-)Chad was a boy who always had a smile...and a great sense of humor. I will never forget the day in 6th grade when he and I took a bus pass to our friend Nikki's house. We decided to take a walk down to the creek-it was kind of chilly ...I was wearing a fuzzy wool sweater...and for whatever reason Chad had a lighter...as kids do- he kept flicking the lighter just being goofy, and we all horsed around..then "whoosh"...Chad started my sweater on fire-wow the look on his face...it could probably only have been topped by my own...all three of us furiously patted out the flames...no injuries thankfully...but it was hilarious as can be... Chad will always be the first boy to start me on fire...sadly he started a trend several have followed...but he will always be the first... every time I think of Chad I smile and repeat in my head "STOP DROP AND ROLL!!!" Pamela"

03-06-10 | 12:05 pmThinking of ChadTO MY SWEET BOY CHAD, ITS IS SO HARD TO PUT INTO WORDS WHAT I'M FEELING IN MY HEART AND SOUL. THERE IS A HOLE IN MY HEART THAT ALL THE STARS IN THE HEAVENS SKY CANNOT FILL, BUT I KNOW THERE IS A NEW BRIGHT STAR SHINNING DOWN UPON THE NIGHT AND THAT WILL BE MY SON,"CHAD". I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AGAIN IN HEAVEN TO TELL YOU SON, HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU. YOU ALWAYS GAVE ME A BIG HUG HI AND GOODBYE WHEN YOU WERE HERE AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR THOSE BIG LOVING HUGS ONCE AGAIN. WHEN I FIRST SAW YOU WHEN YOU WERE BORN,(AT 10BLS 5OZ) YOU WERE THE BIGGEST BABY IN THE NURSERY. I WAS THE PROUDEST FATHER TO HAVE SUCH A BIG STRONG HANDSOME BABY BOY. I STILL REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE STILL A BABY AND ALL THE NIGHT FEEDINGS I HELD YOU IN MY ARMS.THE DAY I WENT TO YOUR HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME AT THE RALPH STADIUM WHERE YOU PLAYED AGAINST WILLIAMSVILLE SOUTH "THE GAME YOU WON", YOU DID FLIPS ON THE FIELD AND YOUR COACH SAID TO ME THAT HE WISH THAT HE HAD FOUR MORE GUYS LIKE YOU. EVERY PICTURE I HAVE OF YOU, YOU ARE ALWAYS SMILING OR DOING SOMETHING FUNNY "YOU LOVE LIFE". CHAD, YOU WERE A VERY GOOD BOY AND I CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING WRONG THAT YOU HAVE DONE OR ANYONE YOU HAVE EVER HURT. GOD GAVE ME A HAPPY,BIG AND LOVING SON. AND GOD CALLED YOU HOME. AND WHO EVER LOVED CHAD ON THIS EARTH WILL BE WITH HIM AT THE END OF LIFE'S JOURNEY. HERE IS A POEM FOR US SON. I CANNOT HEAR YOUR LAUGHTER. I CANNOT SEE YOUR SMILE. I WISH THAT WE COULD TALK AGAIN, IF ONLY FOR AWHILE. I KNOW YOU'RE WATCHING OVER ME, SEEING EVERYTHING I DO. THOUGH YOU'LL ALWAYS BE WITH ME. I WILL ALWAYS BE MISSING YOU. YOU TAUGHT ME THAT LIFE IS MUCH TOO SHORT, AND AT ANYTIME COULD END. BUT KNOW THIS SON,NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE, WE WILL FIND EACH OTHER AT HEAVEN END. AND WHEN ITS TIME FOR ME TO GO. YOU'LL BE THERE TO SHOW ME THE WAY. I WISH THAT YOU COULD STILL BE HERE, BUT I'LL SEE YOU AGAIN SOMEDAY. I NEVER GOT ENOUGH TIME WITH YOU. YOU LEFT BEFORE I COULD. I SAW YOU LAST AT YOUR HOSPITAL BED. BUT I NEVER UNDERSTOOD. ALTHOUGH I MAY NOT BE WITH YOU NOW, KNOW THAT MY LOVE FOR YOU IS TRUE. BUT WHERE EVER WE ARE, THE MEMORIES WILL NEVER BE FAR. OUR MEMORIES WILL LAST FOREVER, AND IN THEM WE SHALL ALWAYS BE TOGETHER. "HOLD OUR MEMORIES SON:, CLOSE TO YOUR HEART. AND KNOW THAT FROM YOUR SIDE, WE WILL NEVER PART. YOU ENTERED MY HEART AND NEVER LEFT. YOU'RE ALWAYS ON MY MIND. CHAD,I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AGAIN. BUT GOD WILL CHOOSE THE TIME. LOVE YOUR FATHER,KEITH

03-03-10 | 12:56 pmThinking of ChadTo My Son Chad: I had the need to write this today, even though you have gone away The memories of you keep flashing by and I can't stop crying no matter how hard I try! I try to keep busy from day to day trying to make this heartache go away. I know you would want me to go on with my life, as before, but this sadness I just can't ignore. I needed more time with you on that last day, before the good Lord took you away. I just want to know that you knew I was there, by your bedside, stroking your hair I just want to know that you heard me say "I love you Chad, mom's here to stay" You gave me a gift before you went away, my granddaughter "Ember', what can I say... I will cherish every moment with your little girl and tell her all about her dad I will kiss her all over and hug her forever and tell her her daddys name is "Chad." I love you Chad with all my heart and miss you so much!! May you rest in peace now honey..until we meet once again. Love Always and forever MOM

03-01-10 | 05:18 pmThinking of ChadMy Sweet Cousin Chad, Words cannot describe the heaviness in our hearts. I will never forget the day I found out you had cancer. I have never known such a fear, such an emotion like that. Over the last 4.5 months you battled this evil disease and you were doing so well. I couldn’t wait for you to come home, to walk again, and for you to meet your daughter. Over the last 2 weeks things turned so grim & I am so sorry you had to feel all that pain and endure all of that medication. My only relief at this time is that you finally have yours! On a lighter note – I want you to know that Kelly and I will do our very best to be a part of your daughter’s life. I cannot wait to meet little Ember & am praying she has your big beautiful blue eyes. And to your wife Jovonna – I have never known such a sweet, caring and dedicated person. Please give her strength – she needs it so much right now. She wants to know that you’re ok & that you are happy. I must admit, I wish for the same. And for me, know that you have always been so special to me. I have always been so proud of you and your accomplishments. Graduating from Paul Smith’s & then ESF. Leaving the nest & spreading those wings! Our countless memories - from sliding around in our footy pajamas, to playing in the woods, the snow trails, the drive-thru bank window, from cheerleading & little league football games together, the hours of sledding, to the college visits, the family weddings, the bon fires in our backyard, the Buffalo Bills game days, Super Mario Brothers, SEGA, - I could go on & on. Your face, beautiful smile, and those big blue eyes live on in my heart forever. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to see you get married and to have you at my own wedding just last year. We danced all night together, and it was truly one of the happiest times in my life. You are part of me in more ways than you will ever know. Thank you for waiting for me that fateful day & although it saddens me so much – I was there to tell you goodbye. You held on for your family – and of course your beautiful wife Jovonna. I can only hope to touch someone’s life the way you have touched mine. I will miss you forever Chad & long to see you walk through my door and feel those big arms around me once again. May you rest in peace my sweet cousin. I will never forget you. Never. Krista M. Gasiorowski

03-01-10 | 11:15 amThinking of Chadi first met chad when he was 16 or 17. he dated my daughter, lisa. i also had two younger girls, stacey and shannon, who absolutely adored him. after lisa graduated from high school, she went into the airforce and chad continued to come to our home, be with the family and be a 'big brother' to the two younger girls. eventually, as things happen, lisa and chad went their separate ways. but our family never stopped caring for chad, who was such a wonderful young man. always smiling, loved to laugh and very respectful. i remember him bringing packs of soft batch cookies over to watch tv and he layed on the floor right between stacey and shannon while they ate the entire pack of cookies. he was hard working and never took anything for granted. never expected anything from anyone, other than friendship and love. to jovanna, although i don't know you, you have been truly blessed to have such a wonderful man in your life. i am deeply saddened to hear of chad's passing. such a loss for all of us. god bless you chad. sue gable

03-01-10 | 11:15 amThinking of ChadLooking back and thinking of Chad puts a smile on my face. I think what was so great about him was he could make you smile at any time. He brought so much happiness and energy to all who knew him. His fun and rare personality made everyone like him. He was so easy to be friends with. Although he is now in a better place his happiness and love for life will always be a part of all who knew him. I pray that his child has all these wonderful qualities and that his wife will see him each time her baby girl smiles. Scheris

03-01-10 | 11:14 amThinking of ChadMy brother, my best friend. I love you Chad and just can’t express how I feel since you left me. You left me so quickly. I know you were in pain and now you’re pain free. I know that you’re okay now. I want you to know I miss you very much and can’t wait until we see each other once again. My brother my best friend. I know you know I have always looked up to you and always will. I will never forget the good times we had together. Chad I love you! Here I am typing a letter to you, looking at a picture of me and you together with our arms over each other’s shoulders standing side by side, the tears pouring down my cheeks trying to remember you’re in a better place. I will miss the times of laughter over the phone. I can’t pick up the phone to call you just to get a laugh, just to see how things are, just to say hi or I love you. I can’t turn to you when I need you. My big brother, I will miss you and already do. As I stood by your bedside holding your hand, I lost control over myself. I thought ‘my brother is gone, my brother is gone’. I have to be strong for our family, I know that’s what you would want, so I will. I will be strong for you and our family. I can’t wait to see your little girl for the first time. I know you would’ve made a good daddy. I will be there for her for whatever she needs. I love you so much and forever will. Chad, big bro, I can’t wait to see you on the other side. I love you man! Your lil bro, Jeremy

03-01-10 | 11:14 amThinking of ChadAs briefly as I've known Chad, I met him only a few times through my husband. I must tell you what a great guy he was. He was always extremely nice and pleasant to talk to. We chatted briefly about country music. It was maybe a few weeks later, I had heard Chads diagnosis and that he was going to be a father. The world has truly lost a great guy. I may not have known him that well, but he touched mine and my families heart! My thoughts are with all of you who were blessed to have such a great man in your lives. Thoughts and prayers with all of you. The Bulson Family Bill, Robin, Todd, Jacob and Blake!!

02-24-10 | 06:58 pmThank youI'm sorry I didn't update the Blog with more info about what was going on but after the last positive post it started going down from there. Instead of posting negative I chose to just not post anything. This is just a glimpse of my last day with Chad and how truly amazing it was to see him for the last time. Brad (Chad's father-in-law) gave us all an update that we needed to come down and see Chad immediately because it was getting to a point that nobody really knew what was going to happen. Chad basically needed a miracle. I received this information Monday and had a flight Tuesday morning to NYC. I arrived at the hospital at 9am and was able to spend some time with Brad watching over Chad while he slept. After a couple hours Chad started to move his arms a little and it looked like he was waking up slightly. I held Chad's hand and told him I was there and that I loved him. Brad asked Chad that if he knew I was there to squeeze my hand and incredibly he did. After about 5 more minutes he opened his eyes and looked at me and said "I love you man". I told him that I loved him again and that I would always be there for him and he shook his head confirming me telling him. I tried to hold back any noise of myself crying because I didn't want him to think that I was saying goodbye. I will forever and ever and ever be in debt to Brad for helping me get this moment with Chad. Chad then asked for Jovanna and I left the room. Chad proceeded to fall back asleep and as the day went on I think everyone in his family especially his wife was able to spend as much time as they could with him. Later that night his breathing became shallower and shallower and he drifted away peacefully. I started hanging out with Chad from what I can remember in 6th grade over at LSH. Through the years we went through a lot of things together and had so much fun. Even when we didn't see each other for months on end, whenever we would get together it would be like we were never apart. He is truly one of my best friends ever. I hope everyone can continue to show support on this site. His wife Jovanna and their unborn baby girl Ember will truly benefit from all of your donations. Thank you for all of the support over the past months. Thank you for all of your Facebook posts supporting me and Chad's Family. I am sincerely grateful to have met and shared parts of my life with all of you. Mark

02-02-10 | 08:11 pmUpdates from BradToday is looking like a really great day! Chad had a good night sleep last night, woke up this morning and looked good, his voice sounded strong and he had an appetite. Jovonna made him a high nutrition Ensure/cookies & cream/peanut butter milk shake and Chad had the whole thing. Because of the pain Chad was having, they scheduled Chad for an MRI which he had yesterday. I was worried what they would fine, Jovonna was positive. Well Jovonna was right, they didn't find anything getting worst, it was a good report. What a relief! Still no real explanation for the pain, but Chad says it's from the radiation treatments, that's good enough for me. Chad is really coming around to be the Chad we haven't seen in a couple weeks.

01-24-10 | 12:03 pmUpdates from JeremyMy mother, my Aunt and myself have returned from visiting my brother and Jovonna. Chad is still in good spirits. Chad will receive his last radiation treatment today 1/25/10. So at this time radiation is complete, unless otherwise advised differently in the future to resume treatments. Chemo treatments will resume ASAP. The doctors have decided to change the Chemo ingredients. The pain in Chad's back is still on going preventing him to participate in any Physical Therapy treatments. Just to let everyone know, Jovanna had a sonogram, baby girl (Ember Forrest Otrosinka) is healthy and growing on track. Keep checking for updates. Jeremy Otrosinka"

01-09-10 | 07:07 pmUpdates from BradChad had a rough week. Getting set up for radiation treatments was torture. There was simulation and then the first treatment involved a lot of set up and moving Chad. They aren't use to moving a big guy around that has such back pain. We thought the treatments would be 30 minutes or so but the first one took three hours. Chad was exhausted after that. The next one took two and third one, about one hour. So 3 treatments down and 11 to go! They seem to have helped some already. Chad looked like he was in less pain by Friday and using the rescue medicine less. They went up on his methadone, but still the doctor said it's not a big dose and could go a lot higher. I know Chad resists taking more, but everyone says take it if you need it. Chad will be in the hospital probably for the next 3 to 6 weeks. Chad would love to hear from you. If you want to send a note, or pictures, etc... use the address below... 01-05-10 | 03:04 pmUpdatesFound out today that Chad has NO new cancer growth….results of the PET SCAN!!! Good news!!!! As we already knew….it did show that the small tumors in his back as well as the tumor in his leg have grown in size. Radiation on his leg and lower back starts tomorrow…for 3 weeks! A new chemo cocktail to follow afterwards! Along with the radiation he will be given a new med used in women with osteoporosis’s …that has been found to stop tumor growth…..so looks like we are back on track!!!!! Kelly

12-23-09 | 06:52 pmUpdates from BradWell, Chad is "home" (my house) and I think its safe to say, he is doing really good. The first ride in the car coming home from the hospital was quite the trip, it took over 1 hour to move six miles. Turned out there had been an accident, once past that we got going. A less then 2 hour trip took over 3 hours. We are making adjustments as we go along trying to make Chad as comfortable as possible. There is physical therapy and occupational therapy coming to the house. I think the Sadee & Trooper (the dogs) therapy is really doing wonders also. Jovonna and Debbie are cooking some great meals, almost as good as that hospital food.... :) Merry Christmas All!! Brad

12-16-09 | 03:14 pmUpdates from BradSince my last update, Chad has had a really good few days. He has been feeling well and eating pretty good. I left last Wednesday because we had snow at home and to start getting the house ready for Chad. A couple friends, my son and myself built a wheelchair ramp so we have easy access to our house. I just returned with Jovonna and Chad's car this morning. We are going to practice getting in and out of the car with occupational therapy to make sure that goes OK. If it doesn't, we'll have to use plan B (there's a couple plan Bs). Either way, Chad is planning on busting out of here tomorrow!!! All systems are go. Chad has been in hospitals for over 10 weeks and for the last few weeks has been really wanting to get out. He will be home for about a week and a half and then back to Sloan the Monday after Christmas for another round of chemo. Thanks everyone for the support, well wishes and prayers, they really seem to help. In case I don't update before Christmas (I'll try to) I'll say now, hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Oh, one more thing. Jovonna changed her doctor's appointment so Chad could be with her when they find out boy or girl baby.... on Christmas Eve! Late breaking news...... We did the test getting in and out of the car, Chad was able to do it with a little help, no problem. So we are set to leave here tomorrow morning between 10AM and 11AM. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!! Brad

12-02-09 | 07:09 pmFrom JeremyI can not thank everyone enough for their generous donations. I want to thank everyone for all of their help to make my brothers fundraiser become so successful. I can't believe the number of people who showed up. All I can say is thank you. It was nice to see everyone whom I haven't seen in such a long time. Sorry I was so busy and didn't get a chance to speak with everyone personally. I know my brother; he would've been so happy to see everyone, but as we know he wasn't able to attend but he and his wife Jovonna I'm sure are very thankful. To whomever brought baby items, thank you so much. As I know being a father of three boys, every little thing helps when preparing to bring a new life into this world, thank you. I just have a few special thank yous. Kim, Kristia and Kelly, we couldn't have done this without yous. Thank you so much. Adam, (Kristia's Husband) wow bud, thank you so much. Adam, your help in the kitchen was unreal thank you so much. Mark Preyer, I can not thank you enough. Mark, you are a great friend of my brothers and through out this whole event planing you became a great friend of mine, thank you. Tony Graci, (the gentlemen who won the 50/50) your generosity was unbelievable when you told me to give your winnings of $208.00 to Chad and Jovonna, thank you. Once again thank you everyone for your support and we will continue to keep everyone updated at http://www.neverquitforchad.org Thanks to everyone, Jeremy Otrosinka

11-25-09 | 06:45 pmUpdates from BradChad is doing good and looking good. Over the weekend Chad got a "day pass" and Jovonna was able to take Chad outside and around the block in his wheelchair and get a bit to eat. They needed that. Slowly but surely, there is constant progress. On Monday 11/23 we moved to Mt Sinai Hospital where they can focus on acute physical rehab for Chad. We will go back to Memorial Sloan Kettering the Monday after Thanksgiving for the next round of chemo. Its only been a day and a half, but he doesn't have much time here with Thanksgiving. Hopefully tomorrow will be a great day. They did have Chad on a pedal like machine that exercised his legs while sitting in his wheel chair, Chad said that felt good. The plan is Chad will come here when he is not receiving chemo and recovered from chemo treatments. Chad received blood transfusions and platelets a couple times at Sloan. Sloan set up a blood drive for Chad. Chad probably will not get platelets or blood for 2 weeks or so, but whether you can give blood that Chad will get or not, I can see it's a good idea to try to give blood where ever you are. Chad got blood and platelets from somebody good enough to care. Wish all a Happy Thanksgiving. If visiting at Mt Sinai: Mt Sinai is on Madison between 99th and 100th. Go in the KCC building, elevators straight ahead and second floor. If taking the train, could get off at 125th, then taxi or subway. Subway is still the 6 train, get off at 96th and Lexington, west two blocks to Madison, then north to 99th.""

11-20-09 | 10:06 pmUpdatesI talked to Chad's Mom today and received word that they have been offered a private jet for Chad to fly in if possible so he can make it to the benefit! Of course this will all be up to the doctors. He was able to get off of his IV's today and his blood counts are really high after his last Chemo treatment.

11-18-09 | 05:09 pmMy Trip To NYCI traveled to NYC this past Monday – Tuesday to see Chad. I got there and he wasn’t having the best day. They had him pretty doped up to help with the pain and it was hard for him to stay focused or awake. It was nice to just sit there and be with him, his wife and her dad. On Tuesday, he was doing much better and the docs were managing the pain meds so that he wasn’t on planet X. We hung out in the morning and were able to take him up a couple floors in his wheelchair so he could hang out on the patio for a couple minutes. He had physical therapy come in a little later and helped him do some stretches and they are able to get him to stand up five times. When they try to get him to stand it’s a 3 man process holding / lifting him and they were concentrating on him just standing with as straight a posture as he could. His muscles are so weak now that just holding a straight position is really daunting for him. I had almost forgotten how tall he actually was until he stood up and towered over everybody in the room. Overall Chad is progressing. He is getting Chemotherapy and Radiation still. I did find out that he has a large growth in his femur which just adds to the overall length of recovery. Hopefully in the next few weeks he will be able to get unhooked from all of the IV’s connected to him. That will make his movement from bed to wheelchair much easier and he won’t need someone behind him carting around the IV pole. It was a very humbling experience watching one of my closest friends laying there in so much distress. I printed out a list of everybody who has participated in the site so far and gave it to him along with a fat check. I will continue to run the site at least until the local benefit on Nov 29th.

11-11-09 | 05:58 pmUpdates from BradChad is doing pretty good. He had chemo last Thursday and Friday, hit him pretty hard over the weekend, but woke up in pretty good shape Monday. Today (Tuesday) was feeling pretty good, even took a shower today for the first time in 5 weeks. Afterwards, he was laying on the bed looking good and smiling, the only time I saw him smiling that big was when he had a box of twinkies in front of him a few weeks ago. (no need to send twinkies). Chad got the PET scan last week, no alarming findings. It did show something in the top of his right leg, the doctors didn't seem too concerned. He finally got an MRI of that area last night. We haven't received the official report about that yet. The doctors did say they felt whatever it is would be treated with the chemo he is getting already and if need be they would zap it some with radiation sometime in the future. Chad's been doing really good and working hard with physical and occupational therapy. We have been looking for a place for Chad to go for acute physical therapy in between chemo treatment cycles. It looks like if he can get in, he will be going to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center right across the street from Sloan. It hasn't been as easy as this note may have made it sound. No doubt, Chad has a long road ahead but he is determined and has a positive attitude and it rubs off on everyone around him. He has a great team of people around him here that really seems concerned and wants to see him get better. Your best wishes and prayers can't hurt any either........ "

11-07-09 | 06:09 pmA Note From Chad's MomEveryday I check this website and I get so happy when I see how many people have donated for my son Chad and my daughter in law Jovonna. I would like to Thank each and every one of you on my son's behalf, because if he were able to thank each and every one of you personally, he surely would! He has come a long way since first diagnosed with this awful disease.. and he plans on getting back on his feet again and living a long and happy "cancer free" life with his wife Jovonna and their baby. And it is because of people like you that are praying for him and just letting him know that you are there for him, that makes him fight and be strong and makes him work that much harder on getting well. Again; Chad, Jovonna and myself, Thank each and every one of you. You in turn will be blessed! Love you all Roseann (Chads mom)""

11-03-09 | 06:20 pmSloanJust a quick update. Chad is at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, got here on Sunday afternoon. Monday, there have been a lot of doctors and specialists to see Chad. One ordered another MRI which Chad got last night around 9:00. A rehab doctor came in today (Tuesday) and said the MRI showed the tumor has shrunk and no spinal cord compression, HURRAY !!! We didn't get the detailed MRI report yet, but that sounded really encouraging so wanted to get the news out there. Chad was due to get a PET scan at noon, but somebody screwed up and gave him a IV dip with dextrose which he can't have for 6 hrs before, so now the scan has to be moved out to after 3PM. Chad hasn't eaten in a while so that really suxs. Anyway, the PET scan will show if there are any other tumors and from there, they will decide if they want to radiate some more. They will probably do another round of the same chemo that he got the first round (B cycle) because the A cycle can not be given with radiation They got Chad a new mattress as well so he is much more comfortable!

10-29-09 | 05:50 pmUpdates from Jovanna's FatherWell, first, Chad is doing pretty good. Looks good and making progress. The physical therapists are really good. Chad has been up in a wheelchair and standing at the parallel bars, with help. Finally the other day a doctor said after checking Chad a bit, "he will walk". That is not what they were saying a week before, so keep them prayers coming, they are being answered!!! Chad is still at Vassar Brothers Hospital. His blood counts were a little low last week, so he did not get radiation treatments Thursday and Friday and they don't do radiation treatment normally on weekends. After four days off, counts were good Monday, so he started treatments again. He needs to get these treatments thru Friday. We still haven't worked out the details about going to Sloan, this has been a real pain. Hopefully, tomorrow we will know. Chad had a good birthday. He had like 6 birthday cakes, 3 from different areas of the hospital. Everybody loves him here/everywhere he goes. One doctor told Chad to eat as many calories as he wants to build up his counts, and boy, he is sucking in the calories. Cake and ice cream! There's been some ruff days, but overall seems like Chad is headed in the right direction. Love ya all.... Brad "

10-28-09 | 01:07 pmUpdateI talked with Chad's Mom today. Chad is continuing to work with the physical therapists. He is getting more and more movement in his legs and I'm being told that he is able to lift them when he's in bed. He's at the point where they are trying to get him to stand without bars assisting him. They are still continuing Chemo and Radiation and they will be moving him to Sloan-Kettering in NYC hopefully by the end of the week. Maybe they will give him a ride in the helicopter? I'll keep you posted!

10-20-09 | 04:39 pmUpdateAs of 10/18/09, he is beginning to move his legs again and his level of multiplying cancer cells went from a level 1000 the day he was admitted to now 400. A normal person’s level (non-cancer) would be 100. In only 2 weeks and 1 round of radiation/chemotherapy Chad has already baffled his oncology team. Chad plans to walk into his benefit on 11/29 to thank everyone personally. Everyday is a miracle for our family. As of next week, Chad will be transferring to Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC where he will be under the best care possible for his rare form of cancer. They have an entire oncology unit dedicated specifically to Ewing’s Sarcoma. We look forward to following his continued progress! WE LOVE YOU CHAD! "

10-18-09 | 01:05 pmUpdateA Physical Therapist has been seeing Chad the past couple days and has seen significant improvements with his mobility in his legs. I am being told he is able to pull his legs up. He also has more and more feeling in his legs. This is all due to the shrinking of the tumors in his back that were pushing on his spine. Keep going Chad, we want you to walk into the benefit on Nov 29th!!

10-17-09 | 05:37 amAbout This SiteChad Otrosinka was just diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer - Ewing's Sarcoma. After being told by doctor's he had bulging discs in his spinal column, the pain became so intense he rec'd a 2nd opinion. He then was diagnosed w/ cancer. He has spinal tumors that have caused him to become immobile from the waste down - but the doctor's are hopeful he will walk again. He is receiving chemotherapy, radiation treatments & physical therapy to battle all of this. He is very positive and very strong. Chad and his newly wife Jovanna both have been out of work since he was given the diagnoses. Chad has been in the hospital getting on-going testing and treatments, Jovanna remaining by his side. Just days before Chad was given this diagnosis his wife gave him the good news of her being pregnant. Lets fill all these blocks for Chad and his wife!
